Gaza- August 2017,Women Affairs Center concluded a training (40hours for three days) entitled  ” advocacy skills through new media”. The training involved 25 participants from Adalah Coalition( women for change) established by WAC in 2014 consisting of 35 community and women associations.

“this training aims at improving and building partners’ capacities in the community women associations on advocacy skills through focusing on all issues related to develop knowledge and skills to organize advocacy campaigns and network them together”  Wissam Jouda , advocacy program coordinator, said.

Samar Al Dreamly , media coordinator emphasized on the importance of the training where it focused on skills related to professionalism of publishing, promotion and influence through different social media outlets.

The training tackled multiple issues such as advocacy concepts, defending, networking and establishing coalitions, international advocacy and its tools, making plans for advocacy campaign, and managing media and advocacy campaign on social media.

Hala Abu Al Khair , a participant  showed her happiness in engaging in such training where she gained useful  information and new skills in advocacy and media levels. In addition to Sami Attah another participant confirmed that he had a great training and has knew the experiences of the experts and trainers in addition to motivate the youth to use all their capacities to change the reality for better.

Conduct training and workshops targeting society members to raise their awareness on how to claim their rights probably and to carry out youth initiatives in addition to engaging decision makers and program designers in WAC activities.
