Women Affairs Center – Gaza (WAC) is an independent non-profit Palestinian NGO with the purpose of advocating women’s rights and gender equality through capacity development, information and innovative research and advocacy programs. While implementing its strategy to fulfill its vision, WAC is guided by international human rights principles including empowerment and participation; equality and non-discrimination; and accountability to ensure justice and dignity for women.
About the project
Recently WAC successfully received grant from Christian Aid to Secure sustainable sources of income for 30 vulnerable female youth in the Gaza Strip through engaging the labor market and freelancing. The project is expected to last for 6 months that includes 1-2 months of orientation and training. It was agreed that one of the promising employment sectors in Gaza strip due to the fact of siege is in the ICT sector.
WAC is looking for local innovative solid ICT Company that has local and international proven projects to host the required orientation, training for the 30 female participants.
As to guarantee maximum performance of this innovative and non-traditional training, WAC is requesting form nominated ICT companies to include in their proposal a dedicated program focus on how to practically utilize innovation methodology in entrepreneurship projects.
The project should cover the following areas:
- Training in: Project management and system analysis
- Training in: UX/UI design
- Training in: Web programming
- Training in: Android Programming
- Training in: iOS Programming
- Training in: Quality Assurance
Scope of Work
Phase I: Contracting ICT Company
WAC is looking for local registered ICT company in Gaza strip that has to provide its:
- Copy of registrations.
- Company hierarchy with at least 20 full time employees
- Proven national and internal ICT products.
- Recommendation letters from customers/partners (at least 3 letters).
- Proposal that should illustrate the methodology and work plan.
- Financial offer in USD (Invoice or Payment Request)
- The orientation, training should be based on licensed international standards of well acknowledged international institutions.
The proposal evaluation will be based on 70% on the proposal and submitted documents and 30% on the financial offer and WAC is not obligated to select lowest priced offer.
Phase II: Participants Selection
After contracting the winning ICT Company, the company in close coordination with WAC should agree on the selection criteria of the young female graduates. The company should participate effectively in:
- Testing and
- Interviewing the candidates
- Selecting the most best of fit of 30 participants.
Phase III: Orientation and Training
The company and WAC will launch the Training services at WAC premises. WAC is going to provide all required facilitations and logistics in place of OJT where the ICT Company will manage the OJT services through the agreed period with the participants.
Phase IV: Employment and On-Job-Training
After the orientation and training phase, the most important phase will start directly through OJT of 30 participants. Through the OJT period the service provider should submit on monthly basis a progress report that presents the actual implemented tasks, jobs, received payments per project and per participants.
CLOSING DATE AND DELIVERY:
The interested ICT Companies should submit the above requested documents in sealed two envelopes (technical and financial) not more than date 10/1/2016. Any submitted application beyond the deadline will be neglected and they should be delivered in envelopes with name of company by hand to the following address:
